SAME-SEX PROPOSAL VENICE ITALY – VENICE PROPOSAL PHOTOGRAPHER
SUNRISE PROPOSAL IN VENICE – PATRICK & DAN
It was shorty after 6am and all you could hear was the mesmerising sound of splashing water and the birds singing. The Sun was rising slowly behind the foggy lagoon. It was one of these epic sunrises that make you feel the happiest person on the planet because you get to see such spectacular things on Earth. And this moment is all to yourself.
This beautiful morning was meant to be for Patrick and Dan. Even though they had already known each other for four years, it was meant to be the first day of their new adventure. The adventure of planning the future together.
Buffalo, New York was the place where their paths first crossed. Patrick was there in Law School whereas Dan studied medicine in Medical School. After being friends for a year Dan asked Patrick out. Like they do in the movies – walking out from a bar Dan kissed Patrick on the corner and they’ve been together ever since! The most beautiful fact about these two is that they don’t actually have to be doing something to enjoy each other’s company. In fact, one of the best parts of their relationship is the ability to just hang around their house, on their porch, or in a cafe for hours and just co-exist and spend time with each other – just being each other’s company.
This is what I already knew about them a year prior to their proposal in Venice. Patrick emailed me exactly a year before their trip to Italy to book his photoshoot and plan all the details with me. Twelve months wait to meet such an awesome couple was a bit of a struggle!
Patrick and Dan gave me all the feels when I finally got to witness their sunrise engagement in Punta della Dogana. I have seen and photographed tens of surprise proposals in Venice but this one was one of those heart warming ones, bringing tears to your eyes. Dan reacted to Patric’s question with the most genuine smile on his face and one million sparkles of joy in his eyes. They got emotional, I got emotional – an elderly lady enjoying the sunrise right next to us cried too. Too much love and beauty in one place!
Now, here’s a small bit of this magical morning and a small bit of these two beautiful souls.
